Very attractive obverse but the reverse with the skull is simply far too off-putting in my case. Sadly I am no longer a 14 year old boy.
I believe the obverse is the ship, the reverse is the skull, regardless, you made your point clear. Despite the simplicity of the reverse, the detail is also pretty sharp, but then again, one would expect so being "ultra high relief".
These look very cool and I think I need to buy one or two...unfortunately I don't think Provident ships to PO boxes...hmmm...
Seeing this thread reminded me of a John Paul Jones metal I bought years ago. It had a ship in the reverse:
Have been kicking around the idea of getting a few. Might pull the trigger. Any Air Tite capsules for this, or any other way to store them?
Provident has capsules for them http://www.providentmetals.com/2-oz-high-relief-round-plastic-capsule.html
Just ordered 2 rounds. About $5.50 over spot. These are more for the coolness factor along with having ailver.
Having a liver!!!??? On old school typewriters if you mistakenly hit an s instead of an a, you could overtype it and the teacher couldn't tell. : - )
I am. I'll always remember the intrigue and mystery surrounding pirates and such things of fantasy. I bought 1 of these and after it arrived, ordered 2 more because the detail is just fantastic and the thickness of the piece is amazing. Having such thickness enables the piece to have incredibly high relief!
