Big spike as we speak. Settle down to earth in a few weeks as more and more sets become available on the market. I think this set will command a premium over purchase price down the road. Just a humble (hopeful?) opinion........:)

My guess is when supplies at mint prices are gone, it's all secondary market. So up..

The future for this set will be determined by what the dimes are valued at.
The dollar commem will have no premium. Because it had to be bought with the dimes there will be many more sold than would have been otherwise. It's a dog.
I think the dimes will sell for 20 to 30 bucks each in the future. So somewhat above issue price.

Mine shipped out today. I really like the set for several reasons, but could care less how the market shakes out on these. The only reason that I ordered when I did is to not have to deal with the flippers. I was looking on eBay last night, and some fool was asking $600 for a single set. He generously brought the price down to $540 today.

The dollar is and will be worth somewhere around $50, making the dimes almost free. These dimes have the potential to go much higher than your prediction. Do you really think they'll sell for the same as the 1996-w? Buying this set is a no brainer.

  11. If any of the large Internet coin sellers start offerering to buy them from the general public, prices will soon skyrocket.

My offer was $50 on top of reimbursement of cost, or trade for a package of 6 MS 70 2013 W first strike silver eagles...I declined

I bought this set because I didn't want to deal with the secondary mark up prices. I collect Roosy silver dimes in PF70, so I thought I'd take a shot at sending in my sets for grading. It's the only modern series I am collecting this way. Older examples of course, in the highest grade I can afford. I know many collectors aren't into moderns and as a general rule I'm not, but I'm passing this down to my daughter, so they won't be sold, at least not anytime soon.

  16. The mint sold out all they had available on the first day. Many more orders have been placed and are now on back order status. These pending orders will likely sell out the remaining stock and then some. The mint does not post a sell out any longer until current and future stock are depleted and potential returns are accounted for, so this will not sell out officially for quite a while. I would bet an order placed now only has a slim chance of ever getting filled.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

I'm usually an OGP guy for commem sets, but on this one, I'm thinking of doing the NGC "send in the shipping box unopened" thing. Not sure why. I mostly don't buy commem proofs, only the BU frosty versions. The proof March of Dimes dollar will be strictly surplus for my tastes.

The proof March of Dimes dollar may not sell for as much without a separate box and COA.

Really, look at the 2014 C&C set, they still haven't stated it's sold out.

I was a day too late. I was going to order it after midnight, and went to the site the next night instead. It now says that it's on back order and not available again until mid-August. I'm debating now if I should bother.
