I am looking for close by COIN dealers... rough finding some.

How about for plain Silver eagles? I almost want to hold on to them to see if they increase in value ever.

No love for pawnshops here I see lol. Like I stated earlier, there are some that specialize in coins. It would not hurt to make a simple phone call to find a baseline on some coins.

I was going to go to one, but they kind of steered me clear.... I will still reach out.

One guy turned me down. Said he didn't want to get into a bidding war on coins. He was upfront and honest saying he really just buys for the metal. I can respect that.

I'm not saying don't take coins there, just not coins with numismatic value. Those places are only going to buy your coins for the intrinsic value and they may melt them down.

Why wouldn't I consign my collection to a dealer or Heritage Coins(which I can hand deliver all of my coins)? I have heard HC charges around 17.5% and of course, they probably auction them off so who knows the value I can get back for them.

I am looking for opinions other than the people I am discussing this behind the scenes. Want to round out the advice.

Also, if someone can recommend someone to appraise all of my coins, I think I would be willing to pay someone to do it. I don't have the time to sift through all of them. In Dallas of course.

    Thanks!

Why not see what local coin shows are going on in your area, see about getting a table there and selling for cash at the show. All the money goes into your pocket except for the table fee which shouldn't be much.

I think I need an appraisal...

I just cracked open the stash.

12 x 2005 Uncirculated Coin set from US Mint
2 x 2009 Uncirculated Coin set from US Mint
2 x 2007 Uncirculated Coin set from US Mint
    3 x 1994 Proof Set
1 x American Frontier Nickel Set
1 x Three Decades of Buffalo Nickels
    1 x 2009 Lincoln Pennies Proof Set
    1 x 2009 US Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set
1 x 2005 Limited Edition Proof Silver Dollar - Royal Mint
1 x 2006 Fine Silver Coin Pink Ribbon - Royal Mint
2 x 2006 Sterling Silver Lucky Loonie - Royal Mint
    1 x 2006 Test Token Set - Royal Mint
2 x Special Edition Proof Silver Dollar - Montreal Canadiens 100th Anny
2 x bags of $25 worth of 1999-2000 Mixed Quarters US MINT
1 x box of 80 mostly Morgan dollars various years, few Peace Dollars - random years all enclosed in cases.
1 x set of 1994,1995,1996,1997,1998 Green Box Proof Sets
2 x Morgan Silver Dollars in a like 2 inch tube (possibly 20 morgans per)

The collective value of all of these are probably $100 bucks. It's just I have no idea what value I have in my hands and my time more valuable than finding it out.

And this is 1% of the collection

Okay, you listed all those things and you say they have a collective value of only a hundred dollars? I think you smart enough to know the face value alone is more that that. Just auction boxes of things on ebay, like 20-30 graded silver eagles on ebay (with a lot of pics and a list of contents) and be done with it. Or take something like that to a local show. Those are your two best options. Don't even consider Craigslist because with a lot of coins you'd get robbed most likely.
