I think the RP dime will be the rarest RP so far?

Some info on the previous lowest mintage Roosevelt Dime. With 75,000 Mintage only with the 2 dimes in this set I think this one is a winner in imho.

 

After seeing those pictures I think I am going to send off my 5 sealed sets to NGC for grading. Thanks for posting.

I just don't see this one going through the roof. First of all, let's not kid ourselves that the retail price for the MOD Commem is a fair price...it's probably very inflated. Second, FDR dimes are probably the least collected modern series. Third, it's not a regular issue coin, so the 16-d comparison is a bad one.

I made $1500 flipping the ASE 25th anniversary set, that was very much worth my time. I don't think I clear $100 in total off four of the MOD sets.

 

I don't think anyone is buying for the MOD proof dollar which is available elsewhere, although I'm glad the MOD will get a surcharge of my purchases for sure. I think most of us purchased for the dimes which are both unique and fairly low mintage for modern coins. The 1996-W dime is probably the closest comparison in modern history dime wise. But the mintage of that coin is way more (1,457,000) and that coin is clad not silver. Heck even the annual silver proof sets since 1992 not one of those dimes featured in those sets comes even remotely close to having such a low mintage as these dimes.

 

Time will tell. I wonder about Roosy collectors, there may be more than we know. As for the younger generation, probably many more Roosy collectors than Merc collectors. I tend to collect for the long run, but who knows, we may see some decent short term profit - really depends how quickly they sell out and what demand is.

 

Yeah, I'm already calling the 2015-w dime the 1995-w ASE's little brother (or sister, depending on your preference). And heck, the 2015-p RP is in a class all its own. Or maybe we can call both of these dimes the 1995-w ASE's little brother & sister. Just being hopeful.

 

Agree. Someone posted that the dimes are going for $5 each since the dollar retails for ~$50. My point is the mint is IMO overcharging at $50, so I wouldn't recommend that math.

 

The mint is definitely overcharging for the dollar, as well as many other issues. The mint seems to increase its profit margin annually, acting as the monopoly it is, with no government intervention to protect the consumer. However, the problem for us collectors is, over charging creates low mintages, so the coin still sells for more than the inflated issue price, which has been the trend for most recent issues, so a wise collector has to buy..

 

I anticipated a delay in processing immediately after 12 pm ET. Virtually no delays and I had added several other coins to the order list to save on shipping.

 

What are the chances the mint had some of these ready to ship by tomorrow? Or as soon as the paperwork was completed?

 

Well, my status (order) indicates 'processing' and my CC has been dinged for the entire amount, so hopefully these things will show up in a few days and not in August.

Got my 10 sets ordered but the checkout was a pain for both accounts. 03194 on the second and slowest one to complete and is processing. The other 03189 and is processing also. CCs have not been hit yet.
