1978 Quarter with center missing

    Has anyone seen a 1978 quarter with the center missing around the edges? Im trying to get some pics up here. I've never seen anything like it.

    If you mean the inner part of the reeded edge, yes! A mild acid can remove it.

    Thanks Chris, Ill try to get some good pics up here. My brother found it and said it is still reeded, like the middle just isnt big enough! He sent me a few pics but I need some closer ones so everyone can see.

    The copper is eaten away faster than the coppernickel, but since it "eats" the tops of the reeds at the same rate as the valleys the reeding remains visible as the copper center gets smaller.
