Just picked these up from the same seller for $0.83 under melt. That makes up for the $0.05 over melt I paid for the Aussie coins
CF, if any of those green spots on the fouree denarius flake off and a powdery like stuff, that's BD....treat it or it will eat that coin alive.
picked this up the other day, always liked the simple obverse with the just the girl and no legend. the color of this coin was very difficult to capture, this is as best I could get it. prettier in had...but aren't they all.

In the 1800s there was so much foreign coins circulating in Guatemala that the government counter-stamped them to make official. They used coins from Chile,Brazil,Peru, and even their own country. They used the dies from the 1/2 Real to stamp these coins and re-issued as a peso. The host coin below is a 1871 Peru Sol counter-stamped with the 1894 1/2 Real. Mintage NA.
Prior to 1849 letters were mailed in Canada without stamps. The receipient simoly paid the postage upon delivery. In 1851 Canada issued the 3 cent stamp. Like the U.S they were also used as currency. The 3 cent beaver stamp was the first animal stamp in the world. In 2001 Canada minted a commemorative coin to honor the 150th Anniversary of the event. This is a Proof coin of 5.39g of 0.925 Silver covered in 24-karat gold. It is 21.2mm in size. The set comes in a mint case with a commemorative stamp as well as a replica of the plate. Mintage is 90,000.
