image.jpg image.jpg So I've had this coin since my first job. I kept it because I thought it was really cool but I have no idea what could have caused this or if it is even real. Anyone ever see this before and can just tell me what's up? Thank you!

Cool looking, but I feel like it was probably just ground off. I don't see how the coin could have a strike on one side and not on the other.

There's no question that its been taken to a grinder. The grinding lines are clearly visible.

However, it's still a "real" quarter worth 25 cents.

No, I didn't vote because the question is to obtuse. Had it stated "Real Error?", I'd have voted no.

You're right! I never noticed the poll.

Am I the only one who thinks that Georgie's hair is too well-defined for a circulated coin? Also, the back looks strange with (?) grinding marks (?) from the rim toward the center. Why aren't they in a circular pattern? I can't see any evidence of the reeds?

That was the first thing I noticed on the obverse, kinda put up a red flag for me right there before even getting to the reverse

Possibly the angle of the photograph and lighting?

Maybe a trick quarter? does it stick to a magnet?
If not, the other posters are right in that it was ground on one side...
