Ordered mine on Amazon and looking forward to it coming in. I like reading the histories of specific issues or strikes it has and then I tend to like some of them too much and start looking then go broke when I find them haha

Greenie, I'm selling an 8 lb. lead weight you can use to hold the book open when you need both hands to examine a coin. It only costs $28 plus $12 for shipping.

I got mine yesterday. I love the added information on commemoratives (like the individual mintage and melted stats!). I agree it's a bit ungainly to use regularly, but it will come in handy for checking out more in depth statistics.

Just use a drill, take the spine off, and make it into a 3 ring bound book...

I haven't bought one in quite some time, a few decades, it was just the same info year after year with basically inaccurate market prices, but I will be ordering this one - looking forward to receiving it.

The trouble with that is I'd be afraid of obliterating important text........good idea though. :)

I remember John, aka messydesk, mentioning that Office Max (I think) offered a similar service for thick books. He used it for the VAM Bible.

I think you could use something like a 1/4" and not drill through any text and still leave some space between the hole and the outside. Then just run the book through the table saw just enough to cut the outside of the glued spine off and put some snap rings through the holes and BINGO! Spiral bound

Okay, so it was at the book store and it was just waiting for me to look at it. I liked that the grading info is more detailed rather than giving a grade a one sentence to describe it. I liked most the Philippine expansion, especially where they show a diagram of different denominations and the highest points to look for wear. I don't really care for the in-depth look at the large cents, so there's a big addition there that seems out of place to me. Why large cents? I'd prefer those details to be in a red book only for that denomination type. In this way, more info, pics, varieties could be added for all denominations in the deluxe edition instead, not just large cents. Also, the format of the pricing info was different from traditional editions, so that threw me off a tad. Just wanted to share some thoughts

I have one of those myself but an older year book

I suspect this may become an annual offering with a different series highlighted that way each year. Encourages more sales of an expensive book.

This is the first year for this book, there are no older ones. You may have an older redbook, but not one of these.

@Conder101: Your right, upon some checking, I was wrong, found out it's the "Professional Edition" that I have

Unless I was seeing things, there was a BIG mistake in this new Red Book. Look at the prices for 1916 Standing Liberty Quarters!
