I have several coins that I couldn't sell for what I have in them. Honestly, I couldn't care less. They aren't for sale anyway.

I'll never break even on this one as I paid like 10x more than the PCGS price guide suggested and those prices are already way too high LOL

I wouldn't mind being buried with it at all. I like it.

It is still a neat coin, and you might not be buried as deeply as you think.

I'm too smart to make any of these kinds of mistakes. Jk. I don't spend too much on any one coin though. However, I got binders and binders of world coins. Some I paid a few quarters for, some 5 dollars or more too much. Who knows if I'll ever get back what I paid overall. In any case, I'm literally and figuratively buried in these things. It's very comforting, if you know what I mean :)

I don't have a picture of it but it sets on my desk as a reminder to not let people get under my skin. It's an '06 Barber dime that was in an auction that allowed 50 cent bid increments. Everytime I made a bid some guy would bid 50 cents more. I kinda got POed and doubled the last bid. He didn't follow.

Thanks. It is my favorite in my collection. Off metal copper, pattern and toned. Everything I love in one tiny package.

I look at this situation a little differently. Just consider the cash you purchased the coin you believe you are "buried in" could have been invested in the common stock of these once considered "Blue Chip" corporations. Kodak, Bethlehem Steel, Lehman Brothers, Pennsylvania Railroad, Enron, General Motors, and other now bankrupt companies.

At least you can enjoy the beauty, history and artistry of the coin. Your coin will never achieve absolute ZERO, as has happened with various company's common stock.

Thanks, but looking uglier as the years go by, b/c I paid $10,890 for the MS65 and $5100 for a MS64 of the same date.:shame:

I've been doin' some stacking for a while and I will be underwater until Chappell is right and silver goes to the moon. I may back up the truck for a mega stack if things line up right.

Not far from the top pop. I could see the crackout dealers really bidding up a rattler that has been off the market for 20 years.

I was offered 18,500 for the pair but turn it down (I was asking 19k) , and now I'll take these 2 coins to my grave.

Not sure there's any such thing as being "buried" in a pattern. They don't exactly follow any price guides. :)

Ouch! I'm assuming that was an in-person auction?
