Well as per the earlier discussion in this thread I sent this in to NGC (previously PCI gold border MS 64). Most of what I sent in came back as expected or above, but to my surprise the Morgan came back UNC Details AT. I was considering leaving it in the PCI slab, but it was pretty scuffed up and while polishing it I accidentally dropped the slab and put a big crack on the edge. Ah well, I'll have to crack it out and try it again on my next submission.

@Jaelus , sorry about the AU Details NGC grade.

I sent them an unopened, toned SMS 1966 set that I bought from Kryptonitecomics on eBay. They didn't look AT to me, but NGC graded 4 of them Unc Details AT and the Lincoln cent Unc Details Environmental Damage.

I thinnk NGC has gotten much stricter on grading toned coins. Meaning their definition of MA is much narrower than PCGS.

I got the Morgan from Kryptonitecomics as well. I'm not an expert on toned Morgans, but I don't think it's AT. I can see how it could go that way if they have gotten stricter though. I had a couple other toners in the submission that came back graded (though not Morgans). Also I had one coin in the order that had previously been in an ANACS details cleaned slab, where I was 100% positive ANACS had gotten it wrong (and NGC agreed with me).

1920-D Lincoln Cent (NGC MS65BN). Another spectacular coin I bought from member GreatToning. This is about as clean and hammered as Lincoln Cents come in the Brown color class. Amazing this coin is almost 100 years old. Robec did the spectacular photography through the NGC slab plastic.

I wonder what they need to give brown coins a 66.

Picked up this 1901-S Morgan, PCGS 64PL. Tough PL date, about 20-25 graded in all grades.

@USS656 , can you give some details on the photo? Are you saying you bought that bag to search and found those coins inside?

An coworker brought them in today for me to purchase. They were left to her in an estate and she would rather have the cash. This is the second/last part of the collection I am picking up. I wasn't expecting it to be dropped off today so it was a nice way to end the week!

Believe me when I say she will get quite a bit more than $100. Without the 1921 Peace, there's more than $450 in silver. She will get a very fair price, likely more than 20% over what our LCD's would pay. Still a great deal for both of us!
