What do you guys think is this AT or natural toning? Tough to tell if there is still any luster or reflectivity from the photo. Thanks for help!
Large fingerprints on circulated coins, like the one over the LI of LIBERTY, often lead me to believe that the surfaces have been removed previously.
I'd say it was cleaned and then left in a high sulfur envelope , maybe with some heat to help speed up the toning . Though that's a guess on my part .
I agree, to me it looks like someone was using some chemical to change the appearance and got a fingerprint dried on it. But it does not matter, it is still a messed up coin either way.
