Why????? You want the coins in mint condition, more or less you just want the coins. UPS to much of a let down I rather pay for US Priority Mail.
Since the new Mint order processing has taken over, I have placed about four different orders and each time there were different products in each of my orders, for example in one order I bought both proof and unc 2014 BB HoF coins (in December), and the order was shipped separately, one box arrived with the proofs and another with the uncs. I also noticed when the 4-coin Kennedy coins released, I received two that were shipped in a custom sized container, just sized to hold two units in OGP. In that order I also ordered some 2014 unc-W ASE and those came in a separate shipping container, though not custom fit. Again these were all ordered and check-out processed at the same time for In Stock merchandise. In each case, I was only charged one shipping fee, but I don't know who is footing the bill for excess parcels being sent in the fulfillment of single orders processed. Possibly increases in product pricing will be passed on to the consumer to pay for it in the year(s) ahead. I assumed they were trying to fulfill orders and ship as fast as possible rather than hold even a day longer until all items were assembled into one container for shipping. However, in each case thus far, UPS has completed deliver at the same time-- that is, if I got two parcels in one order, they arrived and had to be signed for on the same day.
Well it's got to be figured into the bottom line somehow and added to the cost of doing business. How they would calculate it is beyond me. Sometimes it seems like a real fiasco. Last year, when I ordered both silver and gold baseball commems on the same order, I got them in three shipments on back to back to back days. Day one I got the mint bag, day two the silver and day three the gold. You'd think with modern technology and a little common sense someone somewhere at the fulfillment center would ask why are we doing this.
I ordered two HOF unc's around the same time Chris and they each came in individual boxes, which I thought quite odd at the time.
Well guys, it seems that I went off half cocked. I did in fact receive the coins (though I was down in FL. at the time). The mint did not screw up the enrollments, I jumped the gun and assumed that they had passed over me for the enrollment because the date had changed to 2016. It seems that when they fulfill an enrollment they automatically change the date to the next year. Add to that the fact that I missed the order in my 'mint order' list caused me to jump to incorrect conclusions and start a rant. Apologies. I do wish they would keep that order list in chrono order like they did in the past......would have saved a rant. I actually found out a week later when I was checking my cc statement online and saw that the card was tagged for the purchase back in late December. I immediately called my daughter back home and she told me that the package arrived the day after the wife and I had hoboed south. Silly me. Anyway, I finally got the time to take a pic, so here she is.........
One way you can keep track is checking your past order history. That's what I had to do when checking up on my ASE subscriptions. Either way, I'm glad you got your proofs. I personally love them and think they look like jewelry! I get 3 of them every year.
Right JP, but because the mint doesn't list things in chronological order, I at first missed the entry. Days later (after I checked the cc) I did a more thorough examination and found it. Page 1 Page 2 Order in question is in the second column, third entry.
@green18 , I hear ya. I returned my first US Marshals silver proof for scratches. Instead of waiting for them to resend one, I reordered it instead. The price went up $5! LMAO. I received my new coin today. It's much better. Funny thing is, I've been winning auctions on eBay for PF69 UC for less than the Mint's price. Go figure.
Indeed go figure indeed........there must be more than a few 'big time' dealers buying these issues by the cartload (and submitting that cartload) in search of the elusive '70. The '70s they get back will more than make up for the cost involved with the grading (and lost money) of the '69s. I know, I know. Sorry. Chewy would never forgive me.
