Here’s an 1865 Nickel with Clashed Dies from the last year of the Civil War. The best clash is on the reverse to the right and left of the Roman Numerals, the III. The profile of her nose and lips is really strong. You can also see the Bun in her hair but it’s not as strong. The slab as a few scratches but the coin is fairly clean. Definitely signs of wear but I like it as an AU-55. Graded and the dies are labeled by ANACS.
Very nice, I have seen a few people miss the clashes on these small 3c coins. I'm sure one could get some decent profit out of searching for them cheap, submitting them and having them attributed. Just conjecture though.
I've posted the free guide here to down load several times. Its a great resource that at one time cost hundreds.
I think you might find it more difficult to find one WITHOUT a clash mark. Not sure why, but most of them had clash marks. Here is mine.
Nice and yes, this series has a lot of die clashes. I just recently purchased the one I posted as I really liked it and the price was low.
