Without reading beyond this post Tim, I think that "Too Minor to List" actually translates into "Too minor to determine what type of doubling it might be".
Well I went through 20 more and had some VERY MINOR doubling...I put them back in the holder...I think they were too minor to list....only a very slight split in the serif. This is actually fun. Now I need go through my 15 RAW sets...wish me luck
Like 19Lyds said, "no" but it is a good orginazation to support and your membership saves you $1 per coin on submissions (just in my last submission, 47 coins, saved more then the cost of my annual membership fee). Plus the more coins James Wiles gets to look at (hopefully even all of the different die stages) the more accurate and complete his next book will be, which will benefit all of us.
So if I am a member of the ANA, what would the coneca membership cost me and how would I submit to Mr. Wiles? I would love to see a new book...
If you wanted to join CONECA, this web page would get you started (cost for an adult is $25 per year): http://conecaonline.org/join.html To have coins attributed, this web page will get you started (please note at bottom of page of "Click here for a list of CONECA Attributers" that Mike Ellis or James Wiles will attribute 20th / 21st Century US Die Varieties. Mr. Ellis charges $5 per coin and Dr. Wiles charges $8 per coin for Kennedy half dollars and Ike dollars - both give a $1 discount for CONECA members): http://conecaonline.org/content/coneca_attributions.html Note: Dr. Wiles' service from Variety Vista web page: http://www.varietyvista.com/Attribution Services.htm Bottom-line: From my viewpoint, if you are planning on submitting 25 or more coins per year for attribution service, the $1 per coin you save from being a member pays for the membership to CONECA plus you get their by-monthly magazine "ErrorScope" and access to their library.
