Got almost all of the 19th and 20th century stuff in my type set. Now I'm going for the 18th century.

A bit of a porous surface, but great detail. S-24 variety.

The details and the scarcity of the 1794 cent more than make up for the porous surface...I Think it's a terrific coin!!!

I'm putting together a new replacement 'Type Set' and I've recently purchased several 'colonials' and early cents...I'll see If i can post any file photos shortly..

davidh, please post some of your other examples...I'd love to see them!!

Of course, some of the earliest are so scarce and rare, I will never be able to purchase any...

That's a really awesome piece of history, and a nice looking coin as well. I don't mind the surface at all. Something old should look old, you know? :)

Wonderful coin, the variety is also known as the apple cheeks variety!

She does look like she is about to speak with her mouth full LOL...(RE: apple cheeks)

Seriously though, I haven't heard that designation before---but i may be having a 'senior moment' again and simply have 'forgotten' LOL

Beautiful pickups David. The porosity doesn't bother me a bit, still plenty of meat there.

I like it despite the porosity; these are tough to find when attractive. I also like the early 19th century pick-up as well.

Fantastic example davidh!!! it appears to grade as high as an AU---the hair lines clear and pronounced and little, if any, obvious circulation wear...phenomenal find!!

Doubtlessly, you will have one incredibly impressive 'Type Set'
