And here is an interesting piece for history fans: 50 Koruna 1944 showing the head of Josef Tiso, a fascist priest who became first prime minister, later president of the short-lived first Slovak republic 1939-45. Hitler gave him a choice: either declare Slovak independence under German protection--or let Slovakia be "awarded" to Hungary. He went for independence, and later became an enthusiastic deporter of Jews to Auschwitz.
