Purchased from a very reputable dealer on Vcoins. This coin fell of the radar on 1/25/2015 upon arrival at customs in Chicago. The package was bound for USPS but never received a registered scan. Apparently each scanner operated by USPS has an ID that they can see. Apparently this was apprehended by customs or the guy who scans it likes Hunnic Drachms? I was refunded in full by the dealer without issue. It really bothers me not only that it was a coin I wanted, but the coin was rare in condition, rare by type, rare by ruler, its even rare to come across reference to the coin. The coin was lost to antiquity, recovered only to be lost again. Maybe one day it will again be excavated somewhere. Very upsetting to say the least. Hunnic Tribes, Nezak Huns. Sahi Tigin. BI Drachm. Circa AD 710-720. 28.50mm, 2.80g. Kapisa-Kabul mint. Obv.CPI TOGINI PHOYO in Baktrian, diademed and crowned bust right Rev: Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants. "Srima dive" in Brahmi down to right of altar shaft, ["pare Sri down to left]. Ref# Gobl, Dokumente Em. 206, MACW -. Zeno #20999. Good very fine. Note: Rare specially at this condition.
I hope your dealer does not actually use anything on his shipping label that alluded to coins when mailing. A big no, no. I always ask dealers to use abbreviations in their address when sending me coins.
That's kind of what I said to the dealer, someone might recognize the name of the business and know what the contents are.
If there's a thief involved he needs a good smiting from the coin gods. Hope your coin eventually turns up, man.
Years ago I received a package of coins in the mail. It was rather heavy, and was clearly stamped on the outside, "MACHINE PARTS" Possibly, it was pilfered on speculation, because it was insured for a high value. But based on the post, anyone will have a hard time selling it. Will probably end up in a pawn shop for $20.
i don't want to know what that device up there does..or where it goes. man that's to bad, but there is still a glimmer of hope it will arrive. it is a cool coin.
well, I merely assumed that it was testacle-clamp? (and hence my comment about my wife using it on me when I buy too many coins) ... perhaps I made a mistake and I got my medieval torture devices mixed-up??!
