Until yesterday night his full name (first and last, at least as claimed by the OP) was used, as was his age and location. That, in my most respectful and humble opinion, is plenty of reason to care.

I'm glad you posted Jim. Any idea why the OP came at you the way he did? Did you ever have any CC dollars you were trying to sell?

There you go posting the true facts. It's clear that you took the time to read and understand the situation before posting.

Nobody really cares about the ad or the sale, at least I don't. What I do care about is the OP and his diatribe of an attack on you, is he your anonymous idiot? Can't you figure out who it is by the below message he left on the NGC forum? Just wondering.

"I give this guy credit. He is really, really confident with himself.
I won't give full name but Jim you know Rick S from Gainesville? Yeah he is a good pal of mine and do you remember bringing him some BS 82cc CC right before a UF game??"

"And just one more thing, that third picture... the one that apparently lists 610 Morgans... I've just figured it out... that was someone trying to GRADE THE COINS, not the quantity. So (edit), can't you guys get a life?"

What is a grade 39? What a bunch of BS.

Jim--the heat is on and I do not fall for your games and I will keep tabs on you. I hope you feel the heat and know that since you have burnt all the bridges in Florida that you now must go thru the internet to try and scam for money. Sorry but a few of us are on to you. If it had not been for the messages you would of HAPPILY kept that 'list' that you 'found' and were magically able to suddenly take good pictures of it but totally knew it was a made up list. Yeah. Only an idiot would believe that story. I mean can at least TRY and come up with a better lie? Oh and I LOVE that you have 'a lot' (Your direct words from the ad) of silver halves and quarters yet can post a total of ZERO pictures of them. Oh and your camera was bad so that is why you could not good pictures of the collection---oh but it works PERFECT when you need to snap pictures of these mysterious lists that fell from the sky. Ha ha ha. What a fool.

Also, so you have said a few times you knew the list was not real---so why did you post it? First you said that you new the list numbers were not right (It even says so in your ad) but NOW you say that the list are grades. No, no they are not.

I won't be buying any pencil's from your cup and will follow you and your scams.

Frankly we don't know what this sellers intentions really are from the information we have been provided. In past threads on this forum it has taken far less for many to label an seller as deceitful or even fraudulent. The numismatic community needs to be informed when it comes to potentially unscrupulous sellers and I see utility in this type of thread.

But it went over the top on this one it look more like a witch hunt then trying to find out the facts first

It's better than Springer. This is not staged.

Needs to be settled in a MMA cage fight. Loser apologizes, and leaves the internet for 3 months.

The Op's approach may have been bit brash but there was seemingly something not right with the auction. Most of the added info was added less than a day before that auction ended which provided a long time for bidders to bid on what was essentially misrepresented information. Also based on the time that info was added by the seller it would prevent a buyer from having enough time to retract their bid also. Yes there is protections on Ebay and Paypal but the seller states no returns and the description is awful vague. Plus there has been instances where people have been burned because the seller will take the money and run closing any associated accounts listed under Paypal/Ebay and thus leaving them no way to recover the funds. Op could have gone about it with a little more tact for sure but after the seller posted here with the message he did originally before a mod edited it, I myself lost all sympathy.

Well, some untruths have been published and some assumptions have been made.

The OP seems to have a problem with this guy, a little more than what he's saying. And yes the post could have been worded a lot differently. I think we should help when there is a scam artist out there. As for eBay with their buyer protection it doesn't matter if the seller has money or not in his account. You will get your money back. Even if you list no returns, eBay will refund your money if it's not as described, if it's not received and if you're not satisfied. This has been my experience with them. PayPal, the only way they can do something is with the money. But if you pay with a credit card, you have your credit card company to go to even if paid with PayPal.

The seller said he has contacted the buyer, offered buyer to back out (but decided to continue anyway). If the buyer is not satisfied they can return.

It doesn't seem like someone who would "walk away with the money" and delete their account/not ship anything. If a case is opened then he's likely not going to win.

He's had an account since 2000 and doesn't look like a scammer. What do you guys see in him?

The only thing going for the seller is the sloppy listing. Anything beyond this point is assumption, purely opinion.

No it is fact. He is a scam. 100% scam.
I am glad he is feeling the heat. He even edited the listings to try and create some wiggle room so he could plead innocence. It was only AFTER the pressure he said "Oh yeah do not believe the list I posted on purpose days ago".

    He is a fraud.

I think it's time for you to substantiate your claims. You apparently have had some past connection or dealing that you're unhappy with. Share what you haven't told us so far.

So why don't you finish the story up there planman2014? Since Jimthesoundman didn't respond to my question above, why don't you? Please, leave all the bs attacks out of it, just tell us the facts. So what happened with your Pal Rick S from Gainesville and Jimthesoundman, did he almost get ripped off or did Jimthesoundman actually take some cash for some bunk coins? tmoney.gif Tell the story or it looks like nothing ever happened.
