Was cruising the listings to record some things I want to watch later next week and saw on the Home channel "Coins with Shawn Leflar". I set it to record so I can check it out and see how it's different from Barry Chappell's show. It starts at 8pm EST and has different shows until midnight. I know the few times recently I have tuned into Barry's show just to see what they are selling...I pop in and out usually while reading before I sleep....I am seeing more and more of the dude from PandaAmerica who I don't particularly like. I wonder if Shawn is breaking out on his own now. Maybe I'll see him in Long Beach in June and ask him.
Never heard of it. I like to watch TV coin shows also. I watch HSN, AANTV, CoinVault and ArtandCoinTV. All these can be seen online. If you know any other shows that can be seen online please let me know.
I am sure he sleeps fine knowing what his bank account looks like. People like this don't "feel" for the guys that they sucker.
There was a documentary on the 1933 Double Eagle awhile back that was about 2 hrs long. It was phenomenal. And much more educational/entertaining than Barry hocking proof Franklins for $500/piece....
A fool and his money are soon parted. I do feel bad for people who get suckered into this type of thing, especially since its marketed as a good investment when its anything but. (coins can be a decent investment, but if you are paying double or triple a fair market value from the get go its a terrible investment)
I guess it's official, Shawn is on his own now. According to the Internet, his first solo show was 2-28. I am looking at one of his shows I recorded last night to see what he is doing. About the same quality as Rick Tomasco's show....not real crystal clear picture when you see what TV is really like these days. He has his own telephone number that ends with SLCoins. That's what the numbers convert to. Has his own website too and just a quick search on the web brought up a link to "why was shawn lefler fired from Art and Coin TV?". No info there. With all these TV coin shows you would think more people would look for coin shows and do their shopping there.
i dont think Shawn was fired. he tried to do his own show and failed! he didnt last more than a few months and his customer service was horrible. i called and left e-mails and not one was returned. he worked part time for Rick Tomaska and is now with AANTV selling art and rugs and very little coins. if his customer service was any indication of the way he ranhis show, i can see why he failed so quickly.
