You got that right, my sentiments exactly! Hopefully the OP learned from his post but his last entry with the fake apology shows that he still feels he didn't do anything wrong. Go figure.
I will apologize. I called the guy a scum bag and I shouldn't. That was too nice.
He is a UTTER scum bag and the people who try and defend him are no better.
edited you guys, give me a break. I've never seen so much vitriol. Here's what I posted over on Collectors Society after someone alerted me to the fact that I was being bashed. A different person alerted me to this post also. Why am I being singled out? I have no idea.

-------------------------------------------------
I'm the guy who had that ad on ebay, my user name is JimTheSoundman.

Let me set the record straight.

I've been on ebay since 1999, and I have a perfect feedback rating of 100%.

I have NEVER bought or sold a single coin online. I do collect currency a little, but just randomly with huge gaps of years where I'm not actively buying or selling any of that.

So this is stuff that my Mom wanted to sell off, it had belonged to my grandfather who died in 1975, and she just has had it in a closet since then. She wanted to get rid of it.

I was going to sort and try to grade them all, but I work 50-60 hours a week and after procrastinating for a year I finally said "(edit) I'm just posting it the way it is" and so I put it up.

Granted my description was horrible, I apologize for that. 22.5 lbs was the total weight of the box, I put that in there to assist with calculating shipping, but everyone assumed that it was the weight of the silver coins. Nothing could have been further from the truth. There were a lot of other things in the box like fake spanish shipwreck novelty coins, souvenir coins, paperweights, coin books and a lot of other stuff.

As soon as someone pointed this out I amended the auction description to try and clarify things. I have no idea why that image came out all dark, it looked fine on my computer screen. I posted some more photos to try to clarify why it was unsorted. This just made things worse and then I got 40 emails wanting an exact list of what was included. That's when I noticed that the list of Silver Dollars was very inaccurate, that was just something that was in the box and was probably written in the 1970's also. In hindsight, I never should have posted that either. I tried to clarify that and that made people flip out even more. They started yelling at me via email. It was like they thought I was trying to hide things from them and there was some secret stash I was trying to hide.

So after this deluge of emails I tried to cancel some of the bids and I was going to just cancel the entire thing, make a comprehensive list, like my original plan, then re-list it. By that point it was less than 12 hours to go until the end of the auction and then I found out ebay has a rule that nothing can be changed, edited, added, removed, or cancelled on an auction in the last 12 hours. I call ebay customer service and they just shrugged and said, "Sorry, nothing we can do, those are the rules" which is just lame in my opinion.

I also had some stalker from Indianapolis who somehow figured out my email and phone number and has been calling me like 30 times a day trying to get me to cancel the auction and sell it to him outside of ebay. He's also called my 79 year old Mom and pestered her too. He's completely nutso. I called ebay and they said that account had been hacked.

So at that point I was finally over it. I just let the auction end, and I emailed the high bidder and told him that the description was horribly inaccurate, he wasn't getting 22 pounds of silver, and the lists I posted were completely inaccurate. He said he doesn't mind and he knows that he is taking a chance. He's already sent a Paypal for the full amount, so instead of trying to start again from scratch I'm just taking the easy low stress way out and I'm gonna send it to him. Sorry if everyone thought I was a scammer, I'm not, just a newbie coin seller.

-----------------------------------------

And just one more thing, that third picture... the one that apparently lists 610 Morgans... I've just figured it out... that was someone trying to GRADE THE COINS, not the quantity. So (edit), can't you guys get a life? My poor (edit) grandfather probably wrote that out when he was (edit) 87 years old. He's dead, so he's not around to tell me what (edit) it meant. edited. You guys really need to get a grip and quit acting like a bunch of (edit) prima donnas. I'm just a guy trying to make a little bit of cash for my poor 79 year old Mom, not change the world, and certainly not rip anyone off. So go (edit) yourselves, all of you.

Edited - Watch your language.

That last paragraph that you posted was totally uncalled for and in my book, it welded in place the assumption of your character.

JimTheSoundman,

Settle down and take a breath. If you bothered to read the different post to this thread you would realize that the vast majority of the members are questioning why the original poster started this thread in the first place and wondering what his true motivation was.

The OP of this thread is the same one that started the thread over on the NGC boards, maybe he is your stalker you wrote about and it is sour grapes that you didn’t end the auction and sell to him. It sounds like the OP (author or Original Poster) likes to hide behind his key board probably in his mommies’ basement.

Like you mentioned, you could have written the verbiage of the auction a little better but so what, live and learn.

Chill out a little, if you spend time here you will find out that most of the members are outstanding but like any group, a few weasels will slip in.

Hopefully your buyer will leave positive feedback then the OP can eat “crow” (he probably wouldn’t be able to figure out what he is eating).

Sincerely,
Tim

PS: Once you get your feed back from the buyer, you may want to look into filing a complaint on the OP with eBay about “interfering with an Auction.”

Sorry for the language, but it's difficult to come home from work and get another message that you are being slandered by an anonymous idiot.
I've told the purchaser he's getting 29 silver dollars and 9 of those are Eisenhowers and he's fine with that. I gave him multiple opportunities to back out and have me void the auction and refund his money, but he wants to go forward. So that's all I can do.

Quite the contrary in my opinion. I feel he was just reacting to the negative posts directed toward him in this thread. If you feel there was nothing negative said against him, go back and reread posts #1, 3, 11, 14, 16, 20, 32, 33, 35, 37, 39, 40, 45, 47 and 58, mostly not by the OP.

I suggest that you read the last sentence in his post. And add in the explicitive that was removed. I, in my only post to this thread, defended the guy, not in his capacity as an ebay seller, but against the OP, who came here with a personal vendetta. That statement included me, which I took offence to and still do.

btw, I think this is pretty much over and not much more can be accomplished here. But in case I'm wrong, I brought enough popcorn for all. Enjoy!

JimTheSoundman,
Please accept my sincere apologies for jumping to conclusions and rushing to judgment earlier in this thread. Hearing your side of the story has been a good lesson for me that we should give people the benefit of the doubt and not assume that their motives are bad. I wish you lots of success in your Ebay endeavors and hope that you can enjoy participating in this forum.

Im confused try to help me out with a few questions please.

1. Grades don't work in the numbers on your list. There is no grade 39. It is not a list of grades. So if it is not a count and not grades, and you don't know anything about coins I fail to understand the idea of the photo.

2. Why do you even care? Seriously? You claim to have no coin interest why care about what someone says on the Internet about you when your full name isn't even used? On a closed and paid for sale? For someone asking us to get a life I'm just wondering why you spend yours like this. Us, we have no life so I understand why we post here but why you?

Sheesh. All I see is assumptions. I hope this thread closes and we leave the guy alone once and for all. So he made a sloppy listing and a few mistakes. He's not trying to rob a bank.... (rolls eyes) lol
