Well, I did call the customer service line this morning to alert them of the mistake. Not quite convinced that the concern will get to the right channels......Did my best.

 

How are you guys allowed to post movie quotes, actual clips from movies, etc, without getting a warning about being a "thread hijacker?" Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with the humorous direction this thread went in, but I got reprimanded for following a post with a movie quote with an accompanying one, within seconds. I don't think the mod excuse of "oh, well, I just didn't catch this one yet" applies when my violation spanking happened within seconds and this thread has been going on for days....who do I have to grease to get this special treatment?

 

I've never had a problem with linking to videos. It's allowed because there is a feature to enable and support video content from various websites in these forums. So long as they follow the general rules of this forum in their content, I can't imagine why it would be something you were accosted for, unless there was too many or completely unrelated content, or someone Reported it to a mod because they found something inappropriate about a particular post. Best thing to do is just PM any of the moderators and ask them about your particular post(s) that this happened to.

 

I appreciate your well written and thought out response. The confusing thing is that just as you alluded to, it was one line from a movie from one member, and then the next line typed by me, from Gunga-Din. A nun wouldn't be offended by either line. It's almost as if, as if, there was a target on my back. I cannot imagine why. And I am not being facetious.

 

I remember that thread........I don't know why you were 'flagged' as I didn't feel your response was no more untoward than mine........maybe someone complained to the mods.

News flash, the mods sometimes get it wrong. When that happens, just explain it to them in a PM. Case in point, I once got an "infraction" for a complaint leveled by a teller supervisor in a thread she started. The old goat was boasting in the thread on how she made it a pattern and practice to catch silver as it came into the bank. I inquired in my post how she got around the bank dicks. Dicks are Dick Tracys. The Bank Dick is a W.C. Fields movie. Bank dicks are bank detectives. Nonetheless, she not only flapped off, but others in the thread piled on in her defense, some of whom I even thought were friends. I explained it to the mod in a PM, and he withdrew the infraction. Did anybody, even my "friends," apologize? Ah, not in your life. Too little for that. Really big when they think they got you down and can kick you around. Yeah, needless to say, I got a lesson, there.

 

I am sure you can understand the initial knee jerk reaction to a word with a much better known definition being misunderstood. But explain to me who would be offended by "BRING WATER GUNGA-DIN"...yeah, no. Cliques. Groups. HighSchool. Nothing has changed.

 

Sure I can. I can also understand how small-minded people are when they discover how ignorant they conducted themselves.

Mint beef. Lol. Ken ought to get an infraction for his slang usage of the term "beef" because people might misunderstand.

Well Ken you know I've been in lips and hooves a long time now. I respect others whom choose not to eat meat.
But as for me make mine med rare.... unless it's pork or chicken ......I want it over cooked.
Besides st PADDY ' S DAY this week how can you drink green beer with out a good corned beef sandwich ?

 

You can't overcook chicken enough for me. Undercooked fowl is foul.

 

Heck, I steam the devil out of chicken.........keeps it moist and flavorful.

 

I burn the heck out of it on the grill.
