    Hello everyone!

As my recent NGC submission is now "Scheduled for Grading", I thought it was time to get a GTG started so we can all enjoy predicting what the results will be. I will update the thread once grades are posted (rather than going through all the old threads where these coins have been discussed.)

    I submitted 8 coins total...here they are:

I really wish I could tell the difference between a 64,65, and a 66 Kennedy.

I really wish I was better at telling the difference between an AU58 and an MS63/4...lol

8 coins is too much for one GTG. :) But I will say that Barber quarter is gorgeous, and I hope the Washington doesn't come back questionable color.

I've owned several Washingtons with the exact same toning pattern...usually in MS66/67 holders, both PCGS and NGC. I'm more worried about the scratch on the reverse. At least the variety will be attributed. :)

I have sent coins into PCGS that came back AU 58, not seeing what they thought they saw, I cracked them out and resubmitted only to have them come back MS 64.

So don’t kick yourself to hard, even the graders at PCGS sometimes have a hard time telling the difference between an AU 58 or MS 64 coin.

Well, they'll be listed in the For Sale section when they come back...lol...along with probably every other coin in this submission. Maybe not the Kennedy Halves...we'll see how the rest of them go.

My status has been like that for a week. Don't get too excited yet.

Well, it spent a week on "Scheduled for Grading" - so any change is exciting for me at this point...ha ha...

    Well, the grades are in!

I'd edit the original post, but I can't seem to do that any more...which is a shame, because I just now noticed that I put DDR instead of DDO for the Kennedy FS-102's...yeesh.

1946 Walking Liberty Half DDR: AU58
(Kind of what I expected here. Figured it was at least a high AU, at most a 64.)

1942 Walking Liberty Half DDR: AU55
(Pretty much where I'd figured this one - didn't think it would get an MS grade, so a 55 is all right with me.)

    1964 D Kennedy Half DDO FS-104: MS65
(Wow! Definitely happy with this grade (it's tied for Top Pop at NGC (with 6 others), with only 10 total graded examples.) Especially since I bought the coin for melt.)

1964 Kennedy Half DDO FS-102: MS65 & UNC Details (Rev Wheel Mark)
(Well, how about a mix of HOORAY and a bit of HUH? I'm guessing that the first one went MS65, the second one went UNC DET - maybe the mark to the right of DOLLAR? In either case, NGC doesn't even list population data for this variety...so maybe I have the only two NGC graded examples now? I can't check PCGS for pop data because I'd already visited the site earlier today.)

    1934 Walking Liberty Half: AU58
(Probably the biggest disappointment of the entire group - the only good news being that it's not my coin (submitted it for a consignor.) Most people here and at the NGC boards had pegged it for at least an MS65 - with hopes for an MS66 - in hand it looks much better than even the photos. I think this is a candidate for a crack & resubmit. I think they missed this one big time.)

    1897 Barber Quarter: MS62
(Yep, I have to say I'm happy with this - it came from an NCI Photograde MS60/60 capsule, so anything MS or above and I'd be happy. The two extra points are two extra bits of good news!)

    1963 Washington Quarter DDO FS-101: MS66
(Hey, it's tied for Top Pop with 18 others at NGC, so again, very happy...)

They missed the barber and the third walker IMO. Were higher on the Kennedy's and Washington than me IMO. nice coins though.
