A couple of coin related tokens I picked up at a small local show this past Sunday. The Macomber piece, which I like very much, is plastic. The Bergen Co., NJ token is well done and impressive to me. I don't know who made either one. There's no indication of a manufacturer that I can see. Bruce
I'm a big fan of Universal Classic Movies, especially the horror greats. The Wolfman with Lon Chaney, Boris Karloff Frankenstein...ect Here's something different that I find very cool that I wanted to share with the group. Hope you like it to.
Here is a style of Exonumia,In my opinion at least.I have been in contact with the Senior Editor at a popular Numimastics magazine about their history and his was somewhat stumped. It is obvious of what it is it is the "history" of the package meaning there has been many fake's on e#@y mostly geniric vials&labels and with pellets...This as you can see( ? )are crystal like, flake's.He had said that HE has never seen one packaged like this.Has ANYbody have or seen one of these? I know it's right as rain but... it's driving me whacky!!! I bought 2 when a local coin dealer my dad use to take me to that was selling out,I should have bought all he had! Said he got some himself&others came in during the HUNT brothers scam,Thank's for listening! P.S What's up with the weight difference?-Package?
Well eBay it's a world one has to navigate through Hopefully you can find someone who honest. That is eBay.
You have quite a nice collection of exonumia 49ers. I don't comment much because I don't know a lot about the pieces you post, but I sure enjoy seeing them. Keep 'em coming. Bruce
Thank you my friend, I enjoy everything and I just posted some world paper money that my father-in-law gave me. I'm a rookie with world paper money but they are as interesting and fun as coins and medals. Thanks again.
I found this jeton at a dealer's table at a small show in Burlington. I bought it because I liked it, but also because of the counterstamped "JB" either side of the bust. Apparently, it's Russian as it has a portrait of Czar Nicholas I on the obverse. The scene on the reverse depicts a battle during the Russo-Turkish War of 1826-28. I don't know what the "JB" stands for, but suspect it might be the initials of a gaming house, or of a person who used the piece for whatever purpose. It's struck on a thin 26mm brass planchet. The surfaces are actually quite nice. My picture isn't. I'll have to contact Eugene and see if he knows anything about it. Hopefully, he'll see my post, but I don't think he peruses this thread. Does anyone here know anything about it? Thanks for looking. Bruce
