Plenty of P ' s cents in the Mid-Atlantic have not seen any other denominations . But it's all based on the money supply , meaning depending on your location and the Federal Reserve stocking the banks in their area with the supply. The supply could be new coinage or what the business like coin star is feeding back to the Fed. My father was a Federal Reserve Agent. He would issue currency based on demand and the banks supply. He would also issue destroy orders for money not worthy to be released back into the system . Including money that was stock piled by the Fed that was dry rotted . There are and where areas the government stored money in case of an attack where nukes were used. As for some crazy idea that afterwards the public would need cash that did not glow. I'm sure now a days it's stored in temperature and climate controlled vaults. As in those day yes it was stored in vaults but was audited as to its quality . As a kid dad took me to the bank several times. I recall holding a $100,000.00 bill. As well being lifted up to sit on a skid of them. 100,000.00 notes were never released to the public , as they were used between banks. The public could never own one even if your name was Warren Buffett.
Very interesting jason. To me I would love to see all those money so I can search through them. That would be so fun. I like collecting mostly the older stuff. The new coins are easier and they are face value. I also like searching through unopened rolls of cent and nickel.
got two 2015 silver eagles mixed with my 2013's and 2014's from the LCS, also got a 2015D nickel from quicktrip and a Harry Truman D presidential dollar in a roll i picked up at the bank
