Who's Earl Sheib? Not a bad price for that set, wish it was a tad cheaper though.

I was a painter for Earl Sheib back in the 70s.
When I started, a full auto paint job was $19.99.
You really don't want to know how he did it so inexpensively.

Might have been. It was a long time ago.

I once shot a Cadillac and later found it on display at a car show. Sad.

Man, do I remember Earl Sheib and his ads on TV and the local shop in our town. Always brings back fond memories when someone brings up "older" stuff.

I am in for maybe 10 sets.

According to Wikipedia, it started at $19.95 and was up to $99.95 by 1970. That's what I remember from TV... "I'll paint any car for $99.95!" :p

I actually would like to know how they did it. PM me if you don't want to frighten people. ;)

The paint was guaranteed to stay on your car until you drove it off the lot.
Quick scuff with 80 grit, poor and quick masking, no door jambs were painted. Drips and runs were included in the price. Sheib paint, an acrylic, was a generic brand. No one else had colors that could come close to Sheib's. And they were ugly.
