Yes Goldfinger it will be interesting. Even more so if we get to $900. If the dollar keeps climbing like it is we will. So far dealers in my area are holding inventory and not selling at lower prices. Even on Heritage the commons are holding up and the premium is increasing. My purchases will accelerate if we make a big move down.

Please, my OCD cannot take it anymore. You're smart people. Take a second and re-read your posts. I deal with people posting errors surrounding "their, there, they're" on Facebook all day, this is my happy place.....don't pollute it.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

Agree with the comments previously--unless it is one of the few special dates, and extremely high grade, it is no different than buying AGEs, as it is a bullion purchase. This is not yet the time to purchase large amounts of Gold from the standpoint of price--if one wants Bullion, it is the time to buy SILVER, given that its value is artificially depressed by the spiral that Gold has had over the past few years.

    Morgandude,
I agree about prices moving lower. I just couldn't pass up on some 63/64+ Indians and Liberty's. I plan to sit back now and watch. When I make a gold/silver purchase the prices always move down from my buy price. I hope that happens again.

The premium may even go up a bit -- they tend to be sticky on the downside -- but the absolute price WILL go down.

In what I consider to be an unrealistic situation, if gold ever fell back to $500/oz., I would gladly buy lots of Saints at $900 (an 80% premium), equivalent to buying a year or so ago at $2,400 or so.

They are betting on prices on gold rebounding. But if it continues to fall, they are going to have to cut the prices on AU's and low-60's MS's. Eventually, the Gem quality Saints will fall, too.

If word reaches of Ebay sales or Heritage Auctions going off 15-20% lower in 1 or 2 weeks, you'll see lots of LCS's throwing in the towel.

You mean MS-65 and above, MD ? Or maybe MS-64 with or without CAC/PQ ?

That's what I actually have been doing (as you can tell from my MSD aquisitions) and I actually did buy a bit of silver coinage.

But where are you getting this 'artificially depressed' silver thing ? You mean greater downside the last few years relative to gold ? That's normal, as silver always has greater volatility on the upswing, too.

Smart...let volatility work FOR YOU instead of AGAINST YOU.

It's so simple and yet 99% of my clients over the years have never understood it.:D

I can only apologize for my occasionally misspelled words, and grammatically deficient posts, due to various factors as sticking keys, an integral deficient ISP processor that moves text, time priortization, etc.. I personally appreciate the diversity of our community, and accept the essence of communications.

I trust you'll pardon the deficiencies/errors of some with less than an English Major, who I believe convey their message.

I would not buy anything sight unseen from HA. I bought a MS67FS 1940's Jefferson Nickel graded by one of the 2 major 3rd party graders. Once I received it I noticed a scratch and counting wheel damage on this MS67. Buyer beware!

    Doesn't HA have a return policy ?

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

No. Nearly every auction house is "buy at your own risk."

The only exception is if it is found the coin is counterfeit.

Heritage (and most auction companies) do have a return privilege on "buy now" purchases. With Heritage it is 7 days.

    From the web site...
    • All orders come with an unconditional seven-day return privilege with the exception of graded Make Offer to Owner items. We're not satisfied until you are.
    • Items graded through the grading companies below and sold through the Make Offer to Owner program are not returnable.
      • Coins, Token & Medals: NGC & PCGS
      • Currency: PMG & PCGS
      • Comics: CGC & CBCS
      • Movie Posters: CGC
      • Sports: PSA, SGC, PSA/DNA, JSA
    • All returns must be in their original, undamaged holder and must be accompanied by a copy of the invoice.
    • You are responsible for fully insuring and the safe delivery of any returns.
    • Returns after seven days are subject to market fluctuations and will be valued accordingly.
    • There is no return privilege on any invoice where payment was received late (this includes bounced checks, etc.). Extended Payment Plan (only available on select Heritage owned inventory) purchases are not returnable.
The double eagles referred to in this post would be considered sold "sight seen" since a purchaser has the ability to example the coins in hand prior to completing the sale.
