I guess I have been spoiled by Great Collections and ebay. When I order coins, I get them within 3-4 days with GC. Ebay users are pretty good too. I paid for my auction purchase from Heritage on 2/17 and they haven't even shipped it yet. I can understand if they have shipped but the mail hasn't arrived yet. I know I am small potatoes, but this is no way to earn my repeat business. What's up with them? I have griped about this before, but this is is really frustrating. It's just ONE coin..... Anyone else experience the same thing?
Bugs the heck out of me too. I ordered a $3000 coin from them and paid as soon as I got the invoice, still took almost a month before the coin was in my hands. You would think that they realize they are the slowest in the market when it comes to shipping coins and would try to find a solution to ship a little bit quicker.
I havent got mine either. That is the main reason I dont buy from them. In 3 years I have bought twice from them, and it take 2-3 weeks to get the coins to me. Its a long time to have your money tied up. Its funny I bought a coin from Heritage on Ebay and I had the coin in 3 days.
We shouldn't have to call them, to get them to deliver their products. I get my coins every Wednesday from Great Collections, in fact I have had two deliveries from GC already from the auctions on the 15th and the 22th, and I probably will get next weeks auction before Heritages.
They have a few listed now on ebay I want but have hesitated because of this. I guess they have the ebay ratings they want to keep up so they shop faster that way. What I don't understand is the coins they have for sale on ebay were in their auction a few weeks ago and sold. I watched it right on my screen on the live auction. I wasn't ready to pull the trigger at that time but now I am. They are listed for about $60-$80 more on ebay than the final hammer price. Why would they be selling them again when they already sold them in auction? Did the buyer maybe tell them to do it...???
Maybe, I should try not paying, and see if they ship. I pay all my auctions as soon as the invoice appears.
Unlike button.... I have no patience once I buy a coin online. I watch the tracking constantly on all my packages.
I hear you. I buy most of my higher priced coins at Heritage. I also buy at GC, Stack's and Legend. Heritage is the slowest shipper. Sometimes they arrive quickly, other times they don't. It is a little frustrating, but I just learn to live with it. I have called them on occasion and have had them send the coins out right away.
When I pay with credit card the items arrive in around a week. When I use the echeck it takes 2 weeks. I was happy to see they used 2nd day FedEx when they sent the items. I wait longer when people send using registered USPS.
The bigger the auction the more they have to ship and process. When you are buying on ebay usually a seller only has a few items to send out. Now have them try with hundreds or thousands. It might be different. Of course it used to take a week for a weekly coin auction to arrive. Now mine usually arrive with in 2 weeks. I can't remember the last time it took longer. And like RLM one time they shipped a weekly auction before I paid. Maybe they have a formula for the shipping order. Don't know.
My order is just one coin, a little over $300. I have only ordered once before from them, and that was about a month ago. I had it it hand in 11 days. It's been 10 days and hasn't even shipped. The way I look at it, if they get bogged down with shipping in a timely manner, they should hire more people. That's why I paid 17% buyers fee and $8.50 in shipping for one coin.
Ok, Heritage us be on CT. Last month when I posted about shipping speed, I got an email right then that it was shipped. As I was in the middle of my last response, I got the shipping email. See, it pays to speak up. They are watching....
But they never have anything I want. Plus - I am not sure of the volume. I check them out a lot, but none of the large cents have appealed to me so far.
