Got my Air-Tite with black ring holders and put my bullion coins into them. 41mm for ASE's and 38mm for the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf coins. Perfect fit and when sealed there is not any type of movement at all. Plus they fit perfectly in an empty 2X2 Mylar flip box. The black rings seem to make the silver stand out.

I like the Quadrum square capsules. The round coin in the square capsule also looks good.

I like those for smaller coinage but the ASE"s come real close to the edges making it look funny to me.

They do look nice! The 38mm w/accent ring is also perfect for casino chips....

I like these ring-type Air-Tites a lot. The round shape makes it feel more like handling a coin when I'm handling them, and I can let other people touch them without too much worrying. And, they make album and blank pages for them!

    And you are right,
they do have a good feel to them and it is like handling a real coin!! Plus they are fairly easy to open if need be!

I'll let you in on a little secret. An empty airtite is very hard to open because you have created a partial vacuum. I always store the tops and bottoms in separate plastic bags to avoid this happening.

    I bought them from www.goodcentssupplies.com
They were shipped tops separated with a thin layer of spongy material with the bottoms with the black rings between them!!! They weren't sqeezed together in the box. You take out the black ring side, slip in your coin, and apply the top and start a sqeezin'

I used to get mine from JP's Corner in boxes of 50, years ago. Jerry would give me good deals on stuff because I bought so much from him.

The only Garcia I know who lives near St. Louis is James Garcia who works for Scotsman Auction.

I bought 100 dollar size and 30 half dollar size for $20 from a coin dealer a couple months ago. Morgan's sure look nice in them
They were all put together and are definitely hard to open. After fighting with one for several minutes, I had to look around to see if someone was filming me.

Just use a sharp knife to crack it open then use your finger nails to open it all the way so you don't marr the plasitc holder

Whenever that happens, the best thing to use is an X-acto knife.

Exactly what I ended up using.

I started out using air-tite with rings but I found the ring distracted from the coin. So I've been using direct fit air-tites. However with some recent coins I've bought I'll have to use the rings because of the uncommon size. There are no direct fit for those coins.

I've actually been wondering about this. Do you have to trim the ring to make the coin fit, or do they generally fit without modification? I know the foam is a little squishy, but I've never tried fitting a non-standard size/shape coin into one.

I ended up calling one of the vendors and worked with them on the ring sizes. The coins that I specifically had issues with are the Australian Lunar Series 2 and some Canadian bullion that is an odd weight 1.25 to 1.5 ounces of silver. The Canadian coins were thicker and so the air-tite for the silver Canadian Maple Leaf did not close completely. The vendor did not indicate that I would have to trim any of the rings. I'm supposed to get the package today. So I'll let you know how it works out!! Keeping my fingers crossed :)
