The 9 on this coin makes it very difficult (for me) to determine if this is considered the small date or large date. Can anyone help? CM150220-17532427.jpg CM150220-18081935.jpg CM150220-18084938.jpg CM150220-17574332.jpg

For future reference, if the 9 is higher than the 1 in the date than it is the large date for sure.

60's are easier to tell than the 70's to me.

I did look at that chart. My problem is the 9. I can't tell what's going on with the head of the 9. Is that dirt or is the 9 itself smashed in?

The 6 onto itself didn't help me at all based on that reference picture. Would it help if next time I provide this information, is, what I've done/investigated on my own in my initial post for help? Thank you in advance for everyone's feedback!

I'm just starting out so I'm learning as I go. Thanks again!

Based on the photo it looks like the nine is higher, large date.

the "9" has a die chip which is what caused upper part to be filled in, a tiny piece of the die chipped off leaving a void where metal flowed into when the coin was struck, http://www.error-ref.com/?s=die+chip

Thanks for all your help. Do I need to do anything with this coin? Does this little error increase the value of this coin?

I wouldn't bother. Not that amazing. Some people do love die chips though.

Sometimes die chips are the most interesting things you can find!
