It's been 15 years since I last saw anything resembling a refund. I almost forgot some people get them.

So, that's a good thing. I will never understand why people insist that letting the government borrow their money at 0% interest only to return a portion of it to them the next year is a good idea.

No refund just means that Uncle Sam isn't holding your money during the year. Contrary to popular belief, refunds are not a gift.

I would be happy to break even. Lately I've been owing a substantial amount. Never enough for penalties, fortunately, but still not comfortable.

I spent more on coins this month than I ever have, and I blame eBay. I finally signed up for their pesky emails, and I got not one but two different eBay bucks promotions in the last two weeks. I did some damage. In some cases too much.

I think that we all go through phases.
    At first, I just accumulated
    Second, I got more picky
Now, I am really more picky

I know some people who don't like me re-using the Laura Sperber (Legend) term "dreck", but now that I have been better trained to see problems, man there is just a ton of dreck out there!!! Even if money was no object, 80% of the coins out there are just plain trash.

On the upside, this is helping me stay under my coin budget, which according to my wife is $0. :D

I'm scared what once I get even more trained-up to see coin issues, this percentage of dreck is going to climb to like 90%.

I remember when I first started collecting seriously and I was living in Hawaii...I was; simply put, addicted...I would impatiently wait at the window for the postman to come and put 5-6 little packages of coins I had won earlier that week. It was a thrill, a high that I needed. You would have laughed at me if you saw my face when I got nothing...I would stop and ask the postman if he accidently forgot my items....or I would go and check the tracking on coins I expected that day. It was funny. Now I have a little more restraint as my wife monitors my coin sales and when I go a little bit overboard she reminds me that we have other obligations. I try to tell her it's an investment and truly she understands...but you know how wive's are. She supports my hobby but sometimes I need her to reel me in when needed. I still look forward when the postman comes and will always enjoy this. Coin collecting, in my opinion, is the BEST hobby there is. Hands down. Thanks.

I quit smoking, drinking, and going out so I could buy more coins. Now I'm a grumpy boring old miser. Don't let this happen to you.
