    Nearly all those coins, nestled in the sand for a thousand years, more or less, look uncirculated! If these coins had been found outside Israel's territorial waters (?), the outcome might have been much different.

    Well I did once. Sort of. This is a hoard that I stumbled upon last year while metal detecting. When the East River tide in NYC recedes there are old piers exposed and one of them had some old beams that were not moved in decades... I moved them and found these coins.. silver, clad, old and new denominations. Took me 2 days to dig them out. No Gold. Yes that's me paddyman98.. with my detector :D
