If you are fan of the greatest band Led Zeppelin, then you will love this medal. My wife bought this for me because Led Zeppelin is my favorite band it is a perfect medal for my collection. 1924 France French Led Zeppelin Flight 1492 Christopher Columbus medal.
Man, I haven't checked this thread in a few days. I missed a lot of nice stuff, but I'm caught up now. Keep 'em coming! Bruce
Here are 3 coin club related wood nickles and a good for trade one. This is a great looking woody! Here is one that comes from an interesting location/name place.
Nice woods Circus. I had a huge collection of woods, but eventually disposed of them. I did keep my flats though, all issued by coin clubs. I always liked them the best. Muttonville? Bruce
It was so named because it was the principal slaughterhouse for what was predominantly a sheep raising area.
This interesting medal or token was in collection lot. The front reads Napoleon Empereur around the bust and the standing lion on the back. I wrote jeton that maybe it was used as a game token or something. The lion does not come off so I don't think it's jewelry. I researched it but not much luck. I think it's a cool looking coin or medal but I need help from the experts. Thanks, Steve
Wonderful medal and even a better rock band!!! Stairway to Heaven is one of the top ten songs of the 20th century!!!
Looks like it may have been a button or medallion of some sort, Steve. The obverse of the coin looks to have a dot of solder or medal that originally held a loop or pin attached to it. Nice piece, but I'm just guessing about its purpose. Bruce
Here's one of my favorite medals from 1932. Can you imagine going to Marigold Gardens in Chicago to watch a boxing match back in the 1930's? Super cool, real time with real gangsters. Oh, and here's my only bottle token, Old Drum Whiskey, fairly rare or at least different.
I'm with you Jello! Check this one out, not mine but very cool. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1860-WHITE-...946?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item463240db3a
Now, I like those a lot fretboard. It's so cold here in Jersey that a slug...or two...of Old Drum would go nicely right now. I'll chase it with a wee nip of Rebel Yell and I won't feel the cold at all. As a matter of fact...ZZZZZZZ. Bruce
