It has always cracked me up When people say "So and so discovers what and what" Considering that there were people living on most locations! Sort of the lead oxymoron like honest politicians, We're from the Gov, we're here to help, and on and on! My teachers in school 50's/60's never thought it was funny!
Carpenter No.5-317: That's an interesting piece Jello. Is that a union carpenter's local? It looks like it may have been carried for awhile as a pocket piece.
Yeah definitely has been. I found it in a bargain bin 2009 I think $3.50 price on it. So I picked it up. Unions in Alabama that is rare. Mostly because it a rights to work state. I didn't have to send it to Ngc ether. Someone else did that before the bargain bin.
That's the great thing about exonumia. There's so much cool stuff out there and so often they cost very little.
Carpenter no. 5-317 is the name of the alloy composition. I'll post the link in a second. That might be what it is made of. The alloy has chromium in it which would make it hard to rust. That is really a cool piece Jello and you got a free slab to go with it.
