Real. What makes you think it could be fake?

Look like a real American Silver Eagle Coin. Why would you think it's fake?

Probably grade more like 68 or 69 unless I am missing something, (I am assuming the smudge above the L is on the airtite). I do not see anything wrong with it. Btw, airtites can be opened easily if you wish to weigh it.

Anyone else thinking those Morgans will all be polished or AU?

I hope you got some nice coins - but you can beat $30 each for UNC Morgans and Peace Dollars at pretty much every coin auction my boss has had in the last 6 months. If they're actually BU, you didn't do terribly. If they're AU or polished, you might only be over by about $30 for the group.

What did you pay for the ASE?

Why does it matter if it is at least MS65? That is a meaningless grade where a BU SAE is concerned. Any grade under MS70 is not worth submitting for grading but it is worth at least melt value.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I associate silver dollars with a pawn shop is either steel wool in the back room or a fish tank filled with acetone.

No! No! The fish are in the tank filled with MS70........slimy, slithery creatures that they are.

Oh my, doctored fish, altered surfaces, unless sent to the graders by a prominent ichthyologist for upgrade :)
