Proof coins are the big $ coins

 

Very nice Singapore proof set. Singapore proof sets are mighty pricey and very popular. I have a couple of Singapore's silver proof sets, but almost everything else is an uncirculated set. Singapore's $5 and $10 proof coins can found for reasonable cost if you hunt for them. I was very fortunate in picking up a little treasure trove of the $5 and $10 silver and copper-nickel pieces recently.

 

I have the hands $10 dollar coins in UNC. and Proof. both have shot up in price. I was lucky to get this set for $88 + $5 shipping off Ebay. the heavy cameo sets usually start at $120-950 depend on the date rarity.

you are right the highest ones go for $2,500 ouch!.

 

just bought this 1981 Tuvalu deep cameo proof set. mainly for the deep cameo octopus coin. I have the regular UNC. version and regular proof coin version, but not a deep cameo proof coin. I love the look of it. sellers pics...

Nice. I'd like to get just one of the regular octopus coins. That has been on my list since I saw someone post one on this site. I'd also like that turtle.

 

I think I posted it a while ago. and it was still on your list then. they are cheap on Ebay.

Here is a 1966 Italian 500 Lira I picked up this afternoon. Italy had some attractive coins and I have been fighting the urge to start collecting them and stay focused on Germany, Austria, and Spain. I think this is my baby step into Italian coinage. Frustrating to start now as I lived in Italy for 8 years and only have a bucket of circulated Lira I accumulated in the 90's before I collected coins.
