I have a box of pennies and I'm searching for wheat pennies and anything before 1982. Is it worth looking through the other coins for errors? Thanks for your help
Depends on what you wish to achieve, and if you're willing to look beyond the obvious. Most errors (varieties) you're likely to come across will be those of very low interest or value, so if hoping to make money, there are few things less profitable you can do with your time. However, if doing for fun or the thrill of the hunt, and willing to learn of the different types you (possibly) could encounter, then yes... it is worthwhile.
My eyes aren't that good but I think it is worth the search. I search nickels and dimes as well and there are plenty of things to find and I think it's pretty to find these errors even with little resale value.
Thanks guys, I just finished looking for wheat pennies and the copper ones (found like 6 rolls of copper pennies). Now I just need a magnifier to look for errors
Heck yeah, it's worth it! You gotta check the dates anyway so it's not gonna take much longer to check for an error. Check em out Bud, you may even find a 1955 DDO like that other guy on here!
