I recently acquired a group of the small copper and bronze coins depicted in the attached scan. I believe they may be from India or the surrounding areas, however I have no clue who minted them, when and where. Any help is greatly appreciated.
These are out of my collection sphere, so I do not know anything about them. However, just from appearance, I would say you are correct. They look Indian or Indogreek.
Most of these seem to be from Southern India, late medieval period. These are a bit much to attribute them all for you. In addition one would need to have photos of both sides side by side, size and weight. But to give you some hints: if you google on the following terms you will probably already be able to attribute several of these: - Sri Vira (That's written in Tamil script on your 5th row, 3rd collumn coin. This is a type of coinage which always has this text on the reverse and various depictions on the obverse) - Vijayanagar (That's where some of these originate) - Madurai Nayaks (one of the tribal groups who likely issued some of these coins)
Thanks for the insights THC. Now I have a path to do some research, and I am sure it will lead to more discoveries!
