Gorgeous coin. I would have said MS 65+ * I would have been close.

 

I would have said MS67.

 

This one seems to appeal to everyone not just Morgan lovers. Is not my rarest is not my favorite toner but is my highest grade so is my type set coin. Most of my morgans are 63-65 with wicked toning. They tend to get super expensive over ms 65 with great color

 

I have a Jack Lee common date that is a 68, but otherwise, like you, I go for toning over pure grade. My average Morgan grade is about 64.8, since I have a number of 63 toners.

 

I bet my average is an even 64. I don't even collect morgans really I just buy pretty toners regardless of date. Started to collect them just decided the 89 and 93 cc to much money for as common as they are in high grade and fell in love with trade dollars when I get that set done maybe

 

Here's one I just added. In-hand the colors are much the same as the photo. It's a soft green, near the same color as the label outline. The toning hides any contact marks well. It's in a NGC 4.0 no-line fatty. The reverse is very clean. There is some crescent rim toning around the entire rim. The most intense color is from 6-9 o'clock.

 

While not as nice as Bill's, I too like the magenta to yellow toning...

 

Before I saw the grade I was going to guess 65* because I had read that the TPGs are tough on this date along with the 81-S. Personally, regardless of how the TPGs grade these, I would have given it a 66*. It's a stunning coin and those pictures are excellent, well done @geekpryde .

Sadly, I'll not be buying new coins for my collection for a while. I have a few bids on some coins, but I don't expect to win any and I won't be bidding higher. If I get them at that price, great, if not, no big deal.

I'm going to channel that money to a fishing boat! Should be back in the market around Q3.
