Actually, it's technically not AT. Ikes can get some interesting toning. It was found in a box filled with tissue paper by a very reputable dealer when checking out a deceased person's collection. He posted a bunch of them to the NGC boards years ago. Given that they were high grade AU they were basically a throw-in to the rest of the collection, so he got them for face. I bought the 3 that most interested me. My grand total cost was $5 of which $1 was for shipping. The one posted above was the most AT looking one of the group. Here's another one from the same group...

I seen a lot toner but clad Ike dollars do tone like the one above. Not being an Expert I Still think it would come out with a number grade.

Nice Geek! The cranberry doesn't show well in your pics, but the luster sure does. I'll bet that's a cool one to hold on an angle and turn in your hand watching the colors show themselves!

    Skyman very Toner!
I am not sure if it's the photo angle but the serf on the S mint mark could be upside down? If so it's a die variety???

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

I'm not a variety guy. I did check in the "cherrypickers guide" after I got the coin (a couple of years ago), but the coin did not have any variety characteristics.

Several years ago there was a group/organization called the Toned Coin Collectors Society. Here are the (only somewhat tongue in cheek) 12 steps for members of the Society...

    TCCS Steps

    1. We admitted we were powerless over toned coins – that our bank accounts had become unmanageable.
    2. Came to believe a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity, namely our spouses.
    3. Made a decision to turn our will and “A box” toners over to the care of Ron.
    4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our “C box” toners.
    5. Admitted to our members, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our bad purchases.
    6. Were entirely ready to have TCCS remove all these defects of character.
    7. Humbly asked TCCS to remove our shortcomings.
    8. Made a list of all persons we had irritated and inadvertently boasted to, regardless of their interest or lack thereof, regarding our toned coin collection and became willing to make amends to them all.
    9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would possibly jeopardize our acquisition of a new toner, particularly when attending an auction.
    10. Continued to take inventory and when we overpaid promptly admitted it.
    11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with TCCS, praying only for knowledge of its will for us and the power to make another purchase.
    12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other toneaholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs, except when attending a coin show.
