........or, is it a facsimile signature?

It's one thing to say that you have a certified coin with an autographed insert, but is it really authentic?

Here are three of mine signed by the same person. Note the ever-so-slight differences in the signatures.

I'm thinking if they were, my '77 Elvis signature has a chance.

Correct. JT acted as interim President of the company in 2007/8 before its sale to DLRC. His autograph was a grading special that was offered at the January, 2008 FUN Show.

There are several differences. Look at the "St" in each of the three.

I truly doubt that JT signed each insert individually

That was the whole point behind the scheme. You paid extra to have a recognized expert in a particular area review the attribution and grade before the coin was encapsulated.

It fell apart fairly soon - I have heard two reasons: one was that they started using pre-signed inserts (skipping the expensive and slow step of sending the coins out for review and return) and the second was that Brian Beardsley's widow stopped paying the experts. As I wasn't in the game in those days I don't know what really happened.

Frank, I've known JT for a long time, and I know that mine were signed individually because I was present. JT and I had dinner together that night and were talking about it.

Hi Chris. Cool variety. Did you cherrypick those?

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

1 & 3 look similar, but the end of the autograph on 3 appears straighter than 1. The 2nd "d" (I believe it is) on 2 is tighter than 1 & 3,

The autograph is "JTStanton" and if you look close enough, you will see that every letter is slightly different.

Yes, Larry! I had a dozen sets of the '66 SMS, and when I learned that JT would be autographing submissions at the 2008 FUN Show, I picked out the DDO's to take along with me.
