None of them are my very favorite from the larger list of candidates, but I like both proposed designs for each (obverse and reverse). I can't wait to see how they look in reality.
Liberty portrayed as "real" women? And the design sketches are obviously modeled by real women. What happened to Bartholdi's mother, or Saint-Gaudens' Liberty? I guess those versions are out...? I don't know. This is weird.
I dunno, those figures still look pretty idealized to me. They're just a different ideal from that held by US government officials in the late 1800s/early 1900s...
I like the first obverse design, but I would rather have the letter style of the second. The letters look too big and gaudy on the first. Both eagles/reverses look freaking awesome to me. Either would do.
I liked other combinations better than those proposed; however, I'd buy the first coin posted in the thread. This is one of my preferred combos:
Let’s have multiple versions of the coin, like we did for the Lincoln Penny. Let’s have a “Caucasian”, “African-American”, “Asian” and “Latino” version of the coin. That way, nobody gets offended at yet another “white” coin. Yes? Problem solved.
