I just received this in the mail nearly three weeks after I purchased it. It's suppose to be an upgrade to one I already own, but I'm not so sure how much of an upgrade it might be. The first is my newest coin, while the second is one I've own for a couple of years. I wish I could combine the two.

    ISLAND OFF THRACE THASOS

OBVERSE: Satyr running left in three-quarter view, holding kylix
    REVERSE: ΘΑΣ − ΙΩΝ Amphora

Edit: Now that I look at these side by side, I see they are two slightly different "models" of the same coin. My new coin has the satyr with a three-quarter view, while the older has a side view. Hmmm.

The first one is not as worn and has a better engraving style in my opinion. Not to mention no hole.

    TIF Always learning.

Your new one is far better.

I'd be very tempted to affix a jump ring to that holed coin and wear it as a necklace. It's condition is not great anyway and that hole is just askin' for it :D.

I think the new one is also the scarcer variety. Details are much better preserved at any rate. Nice!

Great new score, Bing ... congrats, big brother

Yah, the new version is far nicer (the amphora is much more detailed, plus your new Satyr has some junk to strut => far better than your original example)

... sadly, I bid on one of these last week, but was outbid (*sigh*)

Nice coin, and I agree, the new one looks much better. Its also a different die, as others have said.

Thanks all. Also some nice coins shown. I think I'll just keep em both.

They are awfully tiny to wear as a necklace, but there must be some reason mine and others were holed in the first place.
