FYI, It is a 1958 not a 1956, though I think you know that.
I do that a lot, writing before thinking.

I'm going with MS64. The reed marks on the head and right obverse field should keep it out of a gem holder IMO. It is very difficult to judge luster from the photos but the toning is advanced and may be muting the luster slightly. With relation to FBL, we are gonna need better photos to judge that.

Why not add a poll with possible grades so we can see in a snapshot how people grade the coin?

How does a poll make guessing the grade easier?

if its multiple choice then u would have less answers to choose from... as opposed to grades 1-70... and i most certainly couldnt just have MS grades in said poll... there are those who see phantom rub and scratches.. they would be upset w/o AU as an option.....

I think you are going to find that the people who actually participate and respond in comments to GTG threads are pretty good graders and are not usually going to be off by a large number of grades making them tough to trick. Take this from someone who has run dozens of GTG threads over the years. Adding a poll allows those who prefer to lurk an opportunity to participate in the game.

Franklin Half Dollars don't exist above MS67 and virtually non-existent in MS60 & MS61. Furthermore, nobody submits circulated Franklins for grading. You could simply include AU55, AU58, & MS62-MS67 in a poll. Did you know that you can attach a poll after a thread has been created?

You have stated your case.... and i actually agree with you.... i dont know how to change it tho..... and i never thought about those lurking would have an opportunity to vote,..it was a great suggestion, and it has been noted for future reference

I just don't really like it. I'm not trying to bash your coin, it's just not for me. Seems weakly struck and has had the ninja death by a million scratches sort of toning happening. This is not to say that it may just be the images, but I would have to give it a grade, I'd call it MS-62.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I don't know what ANACS called it, but it looks like an MS-64 (no FBL) to me. It has a very dark, unappealing look, and sufficient reed marks scattered about to keep it from a higher grade. The toning is natural, sure (from a mint set), but it is unattractive.

No its not dark or terminally ill toning..... not weakly struck.....No its not mint set toning and no theres no fruit ninja scratches here......... i respectfully disagree..... ..unattractive??? Thanx 4 the laugh.... those so called scratches are areas of luster peaking out underneath of the toning... which is a good thing.... you guys never cease to amaze me... now we just need the AU rub guys to stop on by...

When they know they will get shredded for calling AU their next best strategy is ms62... so we pretty much already had an AU rub guy show up..- im learning the game here-
