I was wondering that, but the texture is above the surface of the coin. raised if you were. if it was chemical/acid wouldn't it have eaten INTO the coin?? and would it weigh less? this has normal weight. thanks
The primary reason I suggested chemical damage is because nothing positively suggests an acid eating into the coin. In some places, it does look like something has eaten into the coin, but in other places it doesn't. I haven't the slightest idea what may have caused the wavy effect in some areas. Chris
Kinda looks like it was on a roadway and run over several times by cars. Pavement and cement will do that if it gets run over enough.
