I probably have spent a few thousand on numismatic books. But they make up less than 1% of my collection.
some difference in price from $302.99 to $2688.02 PS: Doug: cheap compared to the ones that are listed in the fixed price catalogue.
Honestly, I don't know what I have spent. However, I can state that I have used my library extensively over the years and continue to use it regularly. Whatever I have paid out of pocket has been paid back many times over by the library.
My numismatic library is fairly small yet solid and growing a few of my more expensive books is a complete bound set of the Gobrecht journals the early dime book and hardbound sets of the eliasberg sale among others. My library of books on early American furniture art and antiques and 18th c woodworking techniques and tools cost me tens of thousands and lines 2 full walls of a room in my house all of it money well spent and I'm always looking for more!!
Along with collecting coins over the past 30 years, I became a Numismatic book collector. I'm presently a member of NBS. Here is a pic of the library , excluding 4 more crates of books, CD and VHS tapes.
Just added another $425 worth this week on 2 books the complete Garrett collection catalogs and the John ford catalog of early Massachusetts silver coins
I honestly don't have a clue how much I've spent on numis-books, I would say easily over 10k. Since I decided to specialize, I've been selling off most of them. I usually buy about 10-15 red books a year, I give them away to people just getting started.
Nice and orderly. Mine are on two floors, and would take about 5 pictures to get most of them, not including the 4 or 5 cartons that I have stored away. Yours are far too neatly organized.
I just added two new books, so I have 3 total, plus a bunch of very nice Auction catalogs from HA and SB. Official ANA Grading Standards for United States Coins (based on @GDJMSP advice) The Art and Science of Grading Coins @physics-fan3.14 As I have stated elsewhere on CT, I also have re-read The Coin Collector's Survival Manual, Revised Seventh Edition, but this was from the Library, so I have to bring it back! I should have just bought this one. I'm up to $60 bucks or so.
I have been trying to skim on Purchasing books I opt for pdfs unless its something I truely truly want to read...

Sounds like some of you collect books instead of coins I've probably spent $250 in the last 2 years maybe....I use what I've purchased all the time...coz i have a bad case of CRS!
