Those Visigoth Tremissis are beautiful. I looked at a couple at Glenn Schinke's table a few years ago. Lite as a feather they are. And VERY pricee. I'll be able to help a bit when we get to the 1200's and really help with the 1300's and 1400's.
The Spanish Visigoth coinage are stunning, I agree. There is quite a selection in a nearby museum along with Carthaginian, Roman and Islamic coins all found near here.

@panzerman You are correct, That is a beauty!! Shame I can't read the date. Another 500 years and I'll be able to join in. Keep 'em coming!!
I can't either! I have a friend in our coin club/ he has no problem deciphering dates/ legends/ mints. That is a great help when I make my data labels!
I have pretty slim pickings from this century. Here's another Tang Dynasty cash coin which may well have been from 700-800AD. I like the green shades of old copper.
@expat, a very nice thread - it is a pleasure to see all these coins - read about the thread in the ancient forum. On one of @panzerman's solidus it seems that Emperor Maurice Tiberius is smiling. A lovely coin. Unfortunately I have no coins to share for this period nor for a few to come, have to wait for several hundreds of years to join
It will be a pleasure to see your coins when you can. I started this thread knowing I could not take part at all, my collecting stops with late Roman and doesn't start again till 1700's. After seeing these lovely examples it is an area I need to consider.
