Would this be a real cameo or not. Also, would it carry any premium?

Does look cameo to me also and yes it would carry a premium over one that is not, but also factor in the grade. Look for full bell lines too as this will up the premium. many of these in high grades with DCAM effect and full bell lines can go for big dollars.

FBLs arent designated really for proofs bc as proofs you'd expect them to have FBL already. As for cameo, it's close imho as the cameo seems to die out on his hair and jacket. But it could just be the 2nd to last picture that's tricking me bc other ones look cameo. good luck with it!

I'm not posturing at all but would it not depend upon the life of the die? I have many Franklin proofs that had no cameo and no full bell lines. There are regular proof quality, say 64/65 and then there are 66/67 or so that have the DCAM quality also. Just a guess mind you.

So do I. Have a complete Dansco of business strikes and proofs 54-63. I was just saying that FBL don't really come up often with these proofs just bc the TPG don't designate them for proofs. At least I don't think they do. I don't disagree at all. A lot of Franklins are poorly struck. That's why it's always good to be selective with them, as with all coins.

If it was out of the case we could actually see it.

You are correct. FBL is not a Proof Attribute. Just like FS is not an attribute for Jefferson Nickels nor FB for Proof Mercury dimes.

It is in a clear whitman holder which looks fused together, I'm not sure how I could get it out.

There should be snaps on each side that you can pry open, unless you truly mean it's fused together.

I can tell if it is fused but it certainly is put together good! I may try later.

A small pen knife under one corner should allow you to go along the outside edge enough for it to start to come apart.

I was able to open it and put it back very easily with the notched corner

Any ideas on a grade and value?? Is it worth sending it to get graded?

Personally, I'm a bit concerned about the spots I see in the pics (Moisture")? Otherwise it's gradable and you might want to have the service touch up those spots. It's an extra fee. ANAC"s will do this, I'm not sure about the other TPG'S.

Not unless you think it would grade PF67 or better. I can't tell by your photos.
