    Looks like something scraped the top portion of the second zero/ The coin as a whole looks like a victim of being in the bottom of a car's drink/bottle holder much too long. Jim

    Yes it does look odd. It’s the perfect place for a bubble to burst causing zinc rot. I sure hope they are not using zinc on cents in 20008. Lol

    Cool PMD.. It is a copper plated zinc planchet. The plating had a bubble in that spot which burst. The inner Zinc is starting to rot.

    Thanks I think I am going to keep it I don't think I will ever see that again on the date.
