What do you all think this mark is on the coin? In searching countermarks, the closest I could find was a partial fleur-de-lis, but I have little experience with chop marks. The corresponding spot on the reverse is slightly raised with flattened devices (see circled section below) as you would expect from a high pressure incuse stamp.
So it does, or maybe the top part of a 3. It's very similar to the font on the date and denomination. I think it's probably damage myself, but it's really unusual damage. In hand it has the look of a countermark, but more crude. Whatever it is it's been on the coin for a long time.
