How many times did you bid? And for the record, just like with an eBay auction, I'll always wait until the very last minute to write in a bid.
You paid too much in today's market. But if silver goes up to $30 an ounce again you'll laugh all the way to the bank. Me with bullion and junk silver and gold I'll just put it away long term. Then when it goes way up like it does occasionally I'll cash out sold a lot off a few years ago. Unfortunately too early.
In my opinion you might have paid a bit on the higher end. The good news is that the price of silver will never drop to zero and there are chances that the price per ounce can go even higher. When the price increases you will have the last laugh.
Since you asked, you paid quite a bit for those pieces. You got into a bidding war and won. Or maybe you lost.
If you were to sell them today, it was not a good buy. On other hand, if you want to sell them 10 years from now they might have been a great buy.
I bought 40 ..2015 silver eagles pre sale price 12/7/14 for $372 a tube delivered only $18.60 each did I get a great deal also getting 1996 eagles $29 each
Most late year Eagles, especially ranging from 2008-2015 I can buy for $20 to $21 locally (only $2-3 over spot price). Online tends to charge too much for really common Eagles. I got a 2002 for $21.50, 2009 for $21, and 2012 for $20 just last week. I understand some folks don't have local coin shops to walk into at their convenience but long term I can't imagine spending that much for Eagles. These are UNC by the way, I don't buy AU/scratchy Eagles.
Not yet but I'm thinking about it, I appreciate the link. Have you received your order from them? If so, were the eagles in good shape?
Agree. If silver goes to $350 an ounce, does it really matter if he got in at $19 an ounce or $25? Not really....,,
It matters in my opinion. He could of got 12 ounces for the same $230 he spent. With silver at $350 an oz wouldn't you rather have $4200 (12 oz) worth of silver then $3150 (9 oz) ?
